No Sun – no moon! No morn – no noon – No dawn – no dusk – no proper time of day –

No sky – no earthly view – No distance looking blue. No road – no street – no t’other side the way –

No end to any row – No indications where Crescents go. No top to any steeple- no recognition of familiar people

No courtesies for showing ‘em – No knowing ‘em. No travelling at all – no locomotion,

No inkling of the way – no notion –  “No go” – by land or sea or ocean

Here we go again – back into a total lockdown. No mixing. No cafes. No travel. No friends. No Family. No fun. And I was just beginning to socialise sensibly, meeting one or two friends in Covid compliant cafes. But it is not about ME – it is about US plus a very nasty virus. Right from the start, the Government seems to have been focused on “How can we keep the economy going?” when it should have been “How can we keep people safe?” Clearly at the start there was uncertainty how to keep the population safe but it would have helped if the restrictions had been the same throughout the country AND ministers had set a good example by following their own guidelines. And was it the best idea to focus on the “elderly and vulnerable”? It gave youngsters a feeling of “it won’t happen to me”. Daily I have seen so many groups of kids milling around the High Street, acting with no thought about social distancing. And what about Facemasks? While the jury is out on the verdict of whether they help, they do prevent the wearer ‘spraying’ over others but they must be worn and handled correctly. See here for guidance. And wearing a facemask is not a question of “the infringement of civil liberties” it is a question of “the application of civil responsibilities.”

This virus will never go away. In time a vaccine will be found to protect the population. In the meantime: “Hands – Face – Space”.
